Our Newest Recruitment Consultant

Dear Reader,

I am delighted to announce my newest challenge as a Recruitment Consultant at Balance Dutch Caribbean, commencing May 1st, 2024. With a rich background in various international HR roles, spanning both European and Middle Eastern markets, I made the heartfelt decision to return to my roots in Curaçao in December 2022. This decision was driven by a deep desire to contribute my skills and expertise to the continuous advancement of my native region.

My journey into HR began during my bachelor's studies in Public Administration at Leiden University, where a course called People and Organisation ignited my passion for the crucial role of human capital within organisations. This passion led me to pursue a master’s degree in strategic HR at Utrecht University, where I dived deeper into understanding and strategically addressing the challenges within the HR domain.

One of the most pressing challenges organisations face globally is the attraction and retention of personnel across all sectors. This challenge is intensified within the Caribbean region by factors such as 'brain drain' and an aging workforce. In light of these realities, it is essential for organisations to have a defined recruitment strategy, strong employer branding initiatives, and effective retention policies in place to enhance the candidate and employee experience to thrive amidst these challenges.
